The former 13P playwright’s contemporary tale starring Brodie, a gifted linguist and single-mom-to-be-by-choice contemplates tough questions when Brodie finds that the baby she’s carrying will never be able to communicate via language. Failing to receive comfort from her young girlfriend, she finds connection in unlikely new friends–namely an ape at her local zoo, and Cleva–the last known speaker of a dying language.
