People’s Center Medical Clinic Values:
- Service
- Excellence
- Community
A little bit about who we served in 2008:
- The People’s Center Medical Clinic had 17,868 patient visits in 2008, a 19% increase over the previous year.
- Nearly 90% of patients visiting the clinic came from households with income 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or lower.
- Twenty-seven percent (27 %) of our patients had no health insurance and received assistance from a sliding fee discount; another 60% were on publicly-subsidized insurance programs.
- Seventy-eight percent (79%) of the clinic’s patients were from communities of color. In 2001, that figure was only 27%.
- Fifty-six percent (56%) of our patients needed a translator to complete their patient visit. In contrast, only 20-27% of patients in other Twin Cities community clinics required a translator.
- Our Behavioral Health Unit recently tripled in size, offering a wide range of social services, therapy, assessments, advocacy and referrals.
- The People’s Center Medical Clinic is a Federally Qualified Health Care Center.
