Peggy Metzer, CEO - Since her arrival at the People’s Center Health Services in 2000, Peggy Metzer has implemented a financial turnaround. Under her leadership and guidance, Peggy ended non-revenue generating programs and refocused the organization on its mission. Over the past seven years, Peggy has developed successful funding relationships with major foundations; led the effort to complete a $960,000 renovation and expansion project of the health clinic; stressed the emphasis on higher provider productivity; increased patient/client volume by 47-percent; and restructured the center's management team to better serve the mission.
Betsy David, CFO - Since her arrival in April 2007, Betsy has restructured and reorganized the medical clinic and billing office to achieve greater efficiency. She reorganized the on-site medical records and set up an off-site storage area to reach HIPAA compliance; reorganized the phone system, so primary phone answering is in medical records allowing the front desk to serve the present patients and handle scheduling; as well as hired two medical assistants, an RN, a Physicians Assistant, a nurse practitioner and physician to increase patient quality. She has also revamped the monthly financial reporting to the Board of Directors for better clarity, set up weekly financial reporting sessions with the CEO and Medical Director, and reengineered the 2008 budget process.
Michael Speight, Director of Human Resources- Michael came to the People’s Center in 2009 with over eight years of experience managing human resources departments. After graduating from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, Michael returned to Minnesota to work at the University of Minnesota and the Robbinsdale school district. He is enthusiastic about the challenge of building the human resources department for a small healthcare organization and brings a wealth of experience to an already strong leadership team.
Dr. Samira Zoberi, Chief Medical Officer - Dr. Samira Zoberi is a Board Certified Family Physician and joined the People’s Center Health Services as the Chief Medical Officer in September 2009. Dr. Zoberi enhances the Center’s leadership as an experienced physician with multiple years of local work experience in Twin Cities hospitals and clinics., She is committed to providing the very best in care and services to all patients.
Dr. Zoberi completed her residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. She has worked at Park Nicollet Health Services and Fairview Clinics and currently has privileges at various Twin Cities hospitals including Fairview Riverside Hospital and Fairview University Medical Center. In addition, she has volunteered her services at various local clinics. Her international work experience includes health care provider at an Ob/Gyn clinic, working as a Medical Officer, and helping to establish school-based medical clinics in underserved areas. She has also volunteered at the Patient’s Welfare Association to assist the underprivileged.
Dr. Zoberi is a self proclaimed “people person," taking a special interest in diabetes, hypertension, women’s health, utilizing electronic medical records and making sure that everyone who needs care, receives it. serving the underprivileged. She likes to provide care and treat all kinds of family units, has an understanding of multicultural issues and is interested and committed to providing affordable and high quality care to everyone.
Rhonda Eastlund, CPO - Fifteen years of social service program management at Pillsbury United Communities (PUC). Developed and implemented successful social service, youth, and health programs for the Somali community and low-income Minneapolis residents for over 12 years. The last three years of her time at PUC, she was director of the Brian Coyle Community Center, a community center in Cedar Riverside with a $1.2 million operating budget. Her position at CRPC builds upon this experience to develop and administer high quality programming to support the needs of our patients and neighborhood residents.
